Thomas Buchanan Buchan (1931 - 1995) was a Scottish poet, playwright/dramatist and novelist. He was educated at Jordanhill School and Balfron High School. He taught at Denny High School before becoming a lecturer at Madras University, India (1957-58), a teacher at Irvine Royal Academy (1963-65), a senior lecturer at Clydebank Technical College (1967-70), and a director of festivals at Craigmillar and Dumbarton. His best known collection is
Dolphins at Cochin
(1969). Three others followed, as well as a novel,
Makes You Feel Great
. He also wrote five plays.
In 1973, he succeeded
Bob Tait
as editor of the magazine
Scottish International
.
