Author Description Mikael ‘Mik’ Awake is a writer and educator based in Brooklyn, NY. He has contributed essays to <em>The New Yorker</em>, <em>GQ</em>, <em>Bookforum</em>, <em>The Awl</em>, and elsewhere. With Daniel R. Day, he is the co-author of <em>Dapper Dan: Made in Harlem</em>, a <em>New York Times</em> bestseller. His fiction has appeared in <em>McSweeney’s Quarterly</em> and <em>Addis Ababa Noir</em> (Akashic Books). He teaches at Lafayette College.
