Author Description Jeremy Bruce-Watt was a Scottish writer and broadcaster. His father, William, was a jute-mill manager and former Indian army officer.<br /><br />Brought up around Inverness, he was educated at Inverness Royal Academy and Glenalmond, Bruce-Watt aspired from earliest days to being a writer, and he used his time in national service in Salonika and Athens to contribute weekly to a service newspaper.<br /><br />He cut his teeth in travel, working across the globe from the Caribbean to the Middle East, in workplaces as varied as an east London underwear factory and his uncle's hill farm in the Lammermuirs.
